Chandigarh starts a private ambulance service at a reasonable price

UT Health Secretary Yash Pal Garg, held a review meeting to provide a private ambulance to patients. He asked to start the service immediately in the city. Private ambulance providers partnered with National Ambulance Service (NAS) “112” to assist needy patients. Private ambulances will be available at reasonable prices. The UT Red Cross Society and NGOs/ private ambulance operators’ contact numbers are made available to the National Ambulance Service (NAS) operators in the Police Control Room.

Charges

The charges for ambulance service will be uniform for all service providers.

The charges for ambulance service will be Rs. 300 per trip within the Tricity.

For the outstation, the rates will be Rs. 10 per km for plains and Rs. 12 for hilly areas.

The uniform fare will save patients from overcharging the ambulance.
