Chandigarh will have its first bird park inauguration by President’s wife
On November 16, the wife of the president, Savita Kovind will inaugurate Chandigarh’s first-ever bird park, which is built on 6.5 acres of land. This park is situated between Sukhna Lake and Rock Garden. Forest and Wildlife Department of Chandigarh has made India’s highest bird aquary. It is 58 feet high, which will help birds to fly easily.
From November 17, the bird park will be open for the public, slot wise entry is permitted to avoid crowding of people at a time. More than 800 exotic birds of 20 species will be there. Visitors can also see African love birds and Australian birds. Aquatic and Terrestrial bird aquaries have been made. In Aquatic bird aquary visitors can see birds living on the surface and in water. Small birds will be kept in the Terrestrial aquary.
People above the age of 12 have to pay Rupees 50
30 rupees will be charged from 5–12 years children
Free entry for youngsters underneath the age of 5
