Parliament passed the bill to extend the tenure of CBI

On December 14, parliament extended the tenure of the director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to a maximum of five years from the present two years. Lok Sabha had already passed the bill on December 3, 2021. Minister of State for Personnel Jitender Singh moved “The Delhi Special Police Establishment (Amendment) Bill, 2021” in Rajya Sabhya on December 14, which was passed by voice vote.https://scienceofpolitics.in/2021/12/14/cbi-tenure-extended-5-years-parliament-passed-bill/
